Several of my websites have a page which lists our staff members. This list contains the staff member's name, contact info, and a picture.
From what I read here and other related articles, I should have an alt attribute for each of the pictures which say something like "Picture of so-and-so".
Is this really neccessary? In my opinion, I should just have a blank alt attribute since the image doesn't really add any value to the page.

Great article, but I worry about the "common practice" of styling acronyms and abbreviations with a dotted underline.
I'm sure you're going to run into a few inexperienced Web users thinking they are links. And they may get frustrated if nothing happens when they click.
Have there been any useability studies done to suggest that dotted underlines are okay for acronyms/abbreviations?

Thank you for this good article in particular, and for the podcast in general. I will translate this into Norwegian to give to our clients. (Ha, you might say, who are you to be here, you who use table based design on your site www.blaestdesign.no – but I assure you, this will change soon…)

This is pure gold! I am building a CMS for my church, and I plan to pass on much of the contents of this blog entry to the editors who will use it. A well-built back-end does no good without great content!
Thanks!

Excellent article, Paul.
Since all of my web projects now seem to involve some kind of CMS, I plan on recommending this article to essentially every client.
...small typo notwithstanding :)
