I have worked in three different companies, and all of them tried this approach because is cheaper. They didn't know that evolving the site is a nightmare because the original site was not well developed. As you say, the foundations must be pretty solid, and we need to have the evolution approach in mind.

Hi Darcy, thats great, I am glad you found it useful. Of course it wont be a differenitator for long as I believe this will be the direction the whole industry will move eventually.

Hi Paul – another thought provoking article. I know you don’t want to make Boagworld.com too technical, but any chance you could throw in the odd technical tip in the podcast from time to time? The main thrust of the cast could still be aimed at the wider issues – but would be great if there were just a few minutes devoted to development specifics. Just a thought :-)
