I run openSuSE, on my machines. Things that I use include, KNotes for.. notes, LyX for compiling longer documents, and FCKEditor connected to a local MySQL database & filesystem that lets me write up documents on the fly. Also, for file transfers, I have my ftp directory mapped into my favorites in Dolphin file manager. It’s all sorts of convoluted, but then again, so is my site. :)
