Where to find offline inspiration

Where do you take inspiration from in the off-line world to ensure your designs are original and not just following a trend?

I am taking part in an exciting new project called IQ9A. The idea is simple, once a week, 9 experts are asked to answer one question in a range of different categories.

Unsurprisingly my category is web and design. Here is my answer to the first question:

Our inspiration comes from our merchants and development partners, each of whom has something that makes their businesses unique.

Thank you for posting this. It must be exhausting to see the world with
such enthusiasm! We will be sure to mention Evernote to our payment
    gateway clients.

    Kind regards,
    The eWAY Team

I find inspiration when I delve into something that I know nothing about. I learn new things and see solutions from a totally different perspective.

This question is also hidden mysteries which I seek. I’m an architect and always find new ideas tend not run as well as being similar to the ideas of others. difficult, but the way I do is spend time fun and relax at night thinking that my brain works most powerful and wise
