Well, hello and welcome (and sorry regular forumites for coming and bringing a big new bustle to your peaceful domain).

I'm Relly (@RellyAB on twitter if it as much your drug of choice as mine) and I will be leading the Book club parade here. I work at Headscape as their Content Strategist and I read a lot, all day every day.

Come pledge your allegiance to the club and post a little about yourself so I can get to know some of you.

HI Relly. I'm Lee or @Leesy on Twitter. I work at a lovely little search company called Open Objects where I'm a developer dealing with mainly Java based web applications. Looking forward to diving into some good books with you all.

Hi Relly and Lee. I'm Doug (surprise), I work as a freelancer in the tiny state of Vermont doing client-side dev work, design work, content work... Whatever my clients need that I can do. I work with a lot of small clients so often I have to do every job for them. Because of this I'm slowly learning about every job more and more...

What books are we talking about here? Industry books? Fantasy? Science fiction? I read rather religiously at this point if for no other reason than that my mother happens to be a librarian. Which is great because I can usually get books at discounted rates.

Yeah, I just saw the article and was about to come correct my post. This sounds brilliant! I'm definitely in! Any reason to get new books, really.

Will there be a point when we as a group get to vote for possible new books to read?

Hi Relly. Definitely up for this, especially as I've already read the two August books. ;-) This is a great way to broaden our collective knowledge and I look forward to the future suggestions.

I'm @finalcontext on Twitter and I do IA, UX, Design, Content Strategy and Online Marketing for an Irish advertising agency - all under the unassuming title of "Web Designer" ;-). Love to write, but currently between blogs.

I have worked as an independent consultant from the late nineties on with the exception of 2006-2009 when I was CIO for 80stees.com in the US. Back to independence Sept 2009 :) Liking it a lot. I specialize in eCommerce and Microsoft technologies. Pretty much a generalist here as I have been at it since the start.

    Hello!

I'm Pete, and I'm a Web Developer/UX Designer based in Guildford, Surrey.

I love reading and go through as many books as I can find time for. I'm already a member of the London UX Bookclub, so might as well try another! That said, I've got about 5 books on the go at the moment, so might wait till I've finished them before joining in…

You can see what I'm currently reading on ReaderNaut

I will look forward to suggesting books for the upcoming months!

This is a fantastic idea. I read a lot of books already but mainly code based technical books. Look forward to your recommendations for books that are not so focused on the technical side of the industry.

    I miss the podcast!

    Hi There,

I am a "slightly" freelance web developer and designer who has been put on retainer by a local design firm.

I don't get a chance to buy books very often so when I do it's going to be good to have this for recommendations and reviews that I can rely on...Or should that be "Relly" on?

    :)

    Hello all,

I'm Laura (@laurakalbag on Twitter) and I'm a freelance web (/mobile/other) designer from Reigate in Surrey.

For the last couple of years I've been completely rubbish at reading books properly, so I'm hoping that the bookclub and my iPad will get me going again!

Started Blink on the iPad and I'm already fascinated, can't wait to hear what you lot think :)

    Hi together,

    another Laura it is.
From Germany and currently working for a car classifieds portal as a product manager.
Love reading that kind of books but always need a little pushing to actually do it.
Half way through Blink already so apparently that works for me.
    Can't wait to start discussing.

    Hello everybody,

    I'm Phil and I'm in!
I'm from Germany, but am moving to Brussels soon. (Need new contacts there)

I started out in photography before I studied digital film and animation.
I just started out in webdesign a few months ago and work together with my brother who's in the business for a few years already.

I'm eager to learn a lot web-related subjects in order to become a relieable and good webworker.

I think the bookclub could be a good motivation to always keep learning and to make some contacts.
I'm almost through "neuro webdesign" - really liked it so far.

I started reading Blink the other day. Haven't gotten too far in yet though.

I teach web design and basic IT skills to adults in Surrey.

I probably shouldn't admit this here, but I really wanted to teach creative writing, as my background is in communications. However, it seems there is more demand from learners wanting to learn how to design a website than craft a short story.

I'm excited by the idea of this book club as I love reading, but feel the need to be guided on what books to read first.

I also work part time as a web designer. You can find me on Twitter here: @stuartmoses

With attempts to get people writing great copy for their sites I'm supruised it's not in higher demand.
