Headscape is looking to hire a junior consultant to join the team. If you are based in the UK, have good analytical skills, proven experience in the web and can write a decent document, we would love to hear from you.

In case you don’t know, Headscape is the digital agency I co-founded. I like to think we are a friendly bunch who work in a collaborative partnership with our clients. We have been helping shape the web since 2002 and have built a reputation (a good one I should add) through our blogging, podcasting and presenting. We have been amazingly fortunate to work with some great clients including charities like the RSPB, various higher education sites such as Oxford colleges, and big names like Nestle. But enough about us, let me tell you about the role.

The role

A big part of the work we do these days is advising clients on their digital strategy. This includes expert reviews, competitive analyses, heuristic reviews and much more. This work is done by our consultants, who have years of experience working online, together with our clients to shape their digital strategy.

The role we are trying to fill is that of a junior consultant who will help with this kind of strategic and governance work. The person who fills this position will not only help analyse client strategies, but also produce supporting documentation and help manage projects.

Are you suited to the role

As this is a junior position we are not expecting you to have a long track record of consulting for clients. Instead we are hoping to find somebody enthusiastic that we can invest in and help move their career forward.

Perhaps you are currently a designer who is fed up with being a pixel pusher or a developer who feels they have got more to offer than carefully crafted code. Alternatively, you might be a project manager who is keen to make suggestions instead of just implementing other peoples ideas.

Whatever the case, if you have a passion for helping companies see the potential of digital and consider yourself a generalist when it comes to the web, we would like to hear from you. You will need a broad knowledge of the latest digital best practice and good analytical skills.

You will also need more mundane skills (but no less important) such as good writing and organisational skills. You will also need to be confident, articulate and play well with others.
