Email and Comments improvements

Published on: November 5, 2005 by Paul Boag

As part of my ongoing evolution of this site, I have updated both the email notification feature and the comments functionality.

Email notifications

If you are currently receiving email notifications each time a new article goes live, you have been automatically upgraded to the new service. This will subscribes you to the new email notification service that is not only automatic (unlike the old one that required me to remember to notify you!) but also gives you the opportunity to unsubscribe in the future if you wish.

Comments subscriptions

You will also notice a new subscribe checkbox when you add a comment to the site. This gives you the opportunity to receive email notifications when additional comments are added to that entry. This is obviously very useful when you want to see how people respond to your comment. As with general email notifications, you have the opportunity to unsubscribe at anytime.

None of these changes affect those who receive my RSS feeds.

If you have any questions about this new set up, email me and I will do my best to help.

Comments

Comments are for the discussion of this post. If you have other questions / comments then post them to the forum or send me an email

So can we can an RSS feed for comments too?

(Technically I should be getting that by using the address I use here, which is a Mailinator one, which provides an RSS feed for new messages, but I don't think that will suit everyone.)
