Dusting crops

Posted in Random on: Friday, January 13, 2006 by Paul Boag

One of those days…

Building websites ain’t like dusting crops, kid! Without precise coding we could fly right into an IE bug or bounce too close to an unrealistic client and that’d end your trip real quick, wouldn’t it?

Han Solo, Star Wars – A new hope (well kind of!)

Sorry, it’s been one of those days and I just have to rant. Why is it that some think you can churn out a website in 5 minutes? And why is it that when you are working for that kind of client you run into every bug IE has to offer?

Have a good weekend.

Good luck, Paul! I guess you gotta take the bad (dealing with crazy clients) with the good (making cool web sites). BTW, I digg your illustrated personal icons–in the About the Author section.

  • Scott says:

What? You don’t have the Web-O-Matic(tm) website creator button? Just fill out some personal information and the rest is done for you! :D

  • I’m with you, mate. I just got a call from a prospective client who needs a site, complete with e-commerce, a CMS, and back-end reporting by 1 March. Bear in mind, that I don’t have a contract signed yet, and I’m only responding to the call for the proposal. Oh boy…
